I was just looking through the stats on my blog to see where all the visitors come from. I'm always pleasantly surprised to find interesting sites that have linked to my blog. You would be surprised to see how many are from other countries. Today however I saw that I was getting a few hits from a new source. Galaxy Cruise Night

This last Saturday was the Galaxy Cruise Night in Ontario, Ca. It used to be hosted by Xtreme Lowz. I'm glad they it's still going because it's a really good time. Galaxy Burgers has some great food! Nom nom nom....

These Pictures are from our first trip to The Indy Truck Bash in Indiana. I remember that every truck we shot this weekend for Lowlife Video was from Relaxed Atmosphere.

This was a hell of a trip, Mike Venegas and I traveled by stand by all the time which means you may or may not get on the flight. To make it even more interesting this time we took a few friends with us. So now it was four of us on the road. We ended up in Ohio and drove a rental car to Indiana. Along the way we got pulled over on the highway and it would be one of two times we got pulled over while in Indiana.

I did end up getting a ticket for speeding, but luckily the cop didn't bust us for open container. You see while I was mashing out on the highway, good ole' Mike Venegas was drinking a good Bud Light. Instead of stashing the beer right away, he pounded it just before the cop got to the window. And where do you hide a beer, in the glove box of course, right next to my wallet. Luckily we the cop didn't notice and let us go on our way.

Years later Lowlife Mike would be banned from this show, for running the Golf cart down the raceway and later into his own booth. GOOD TIMES!!!

I'm not exactly sure what year it is, but I think it's Resolutions 2003. My Mitsubishi Mighty Max which was called "No Regrets" and the world famous "Time Machine" by Charles Armstrong parked side by side.

This was a great year because not only were these two trucks there were at least six or so Mini Truckin' Magazine cover trucks and they were all parked within feet of each other. It was like a Mini Truckin' cover truck coral.

Recently while cruising through the internet I came upon a list of some of the most moving photos ever taken. These aren't necessarily the best photos ever taken, but photos that would take your breath away. As I scrolled through the images one particular image caught my attention. It shows a malnourished boy crawling on the ground. At first it caught my eye but I didn't really spend too much time on it. I'd seen photos like that before and even though they're hard to look at it, it's just a sad fact about the world we live in.

This image, captured during the Sudanese famine of 1993, is both alienating and compelling. The helplessness and hopelessness of the child contrasts with the predatory patience of the vulture. The shot epitomized the cruelty of the famine and brought the harrowing issue into sharp focus across the world. The photographer who captured it took his own life shortly after this photograph was awarded a Pulitzer Prize.

A few days later I realized that I hadn't been able to get that image out of my mind so I decided to do some research. As it turns out, the man walking away in the shot, had just stole the food from the boy. Suddenly a huge pain overcame me when I realized just how horrible that whole situation must have been. I spent the next few hours researching the photo and reading other people reactions to the shot. (See the shot below)

This photograph was taken by Tom Stoddart, in 1998, at the village of Ajiep, in the Bar el Ghazal region, Sudan.

Some people say that the boy would not have survived with the food and that it's just "survival of the fittest." But I can't help but wonder if maybe the boy had more family or even if just one more meal would have helped him die slightly happier.

I had such a huge mix of emotions. I felt bad for the kid, wanted to kick the guys ass, but more importantly it made me realize how lucky I am and that I shouldn't take things for granted. When I think about the petty first world problems we have compared to this it makes me sick to my stomach! But somehow I feel like this image has changed me, maybe for the better.

I found an article on a blog which says a lot about these types of photos and gives great explanation. Take the time to read through that as well. It's very well written and it tells you more about the photo.

Cat Tattoos! Is it abuse or not?

Recently while cruising the net I came up on a picture of a tattooed cat. At firstI thought it was a cool photoshop, but then I realized that it might be real. Apparently in places like Russia they think it's pretty cool to tattoo cats. I'm not sure where I stand on this because I'm not sure if it's causing the cat any problems. Being tattooed myself I know that the worst part is the healing so they are obviously putting the cat under some stress. I thought it was interesting enough to share. 1963 Impala

I recently picked up a 1963 Impala. It's not much of a car, more like scrap metal right now, but I'm already making the moves to make it one of my coolest builds yet.

I don't know much about the car other than it was channeled by Mr. Bob Grant himself from Grant Kustoms in Oroville, California. At some point it ended up in the hands of my homie Ben Da Pirate where it's been sitting for a few years.

As far as my plans for now i simply plan on getting it assembled and in one color. A buddy of mine and club member Dennis Sayers aka Yankee has agreed to put it in primer for me. But if things are feasible I might just have him spray it in white. As of now I don't know if I want to put it on some tru spokes, cragars or supremes. I know it will definitely have that old school flavor though. One of the few spots that will need some immediate attention is the interior because as of now, it has none. I'll be looking for some T-Bird rear seats and some swivel front seats.

As I searched on the internet for 63 Impalas I found this little gem below which is definitely what I could picture my car looking like in the near future.

This car has it going on.

Hopefully I'll have my hands on this car by mid this year or sooner. As soon as I get my hands on it, I'll be sure to post some pics.

Today the family and I went to the Home Depot Center in Torrance to see the LA Galaxy at the Open House. It was definately not what we were expecting. They had two food trucks and an ice cream truck, long lines and everything seemed chaotic. We are still looking forward to the new season especially since Beckham has been signed for another two years!!!

I don't go to as many cruise nights as I used to and I can certainly say that after tonight, that really needs to change. One of the local Sunset chapters here in So Cal hosted a cruise night in Ontario, CA. No Regrets rolled out deep and I can honestly say we had a hell of a good time. It was hard to imagine that they've been hosting it for two years and we've only been twice as a group. I know a few of us have showed up on occasion but never in force.

The cruise night tonight had really good numbers and a very well behaved crowd. Nothing crazy. The atmosphere was great. No police harassment and it was at a Round Table Pizza so the brews were flowing.

I look forward to going to the next one and who knows, maybe NR So Cal will host one soon! Keep your fingers crossed.

Today I learned about the Lions Mane Jellyfish. It's basically a big as "NOPE!" It's the worlds largest jellyfish and they're prehistoric. These things have been around since the dinosaur age and they creep me the hell out. Reason number 182 why I will never go in the ocean. (not that I can even swim)

Of course they're not all as big as a VW beetle, but too many of them are. So GFY you big ass Jelly fish, GFY!!!

Yokohama, Japan Mooneyes Show 2011

This last December, my buddy Brent Vann and I decided to hit up the Mooneyes show in Japan again. We'd been the previous year, but we had heard good things about this years event because it was the 20th anniversary. We stayed in Yokohama at the Bay Breeze Hotel and Spa, which was very nice. A definite step up from the years we went with Mini Truckin' and Lowlife Video. (Don't stay at the Toyoko Inn)

What I can tell you about the trip is that it had a lot more partying than usual, and we didn't even have to venture in to Tokyo to do it. This time we tore it up in the local Yokohama hot spots. The NR boys and some friends from Mooneyes (Yuko) partied pretty much every night that we could. Sleep was not an option!

I did of course spend some time at the show and at The Moon Eyes Cafe. The show from my understanding was slightly bigger than last year, and had a slightly different set up. I definitely saw many more lowriders than the previous year, and some high quality Mini Trucks, which of course is the main reason I attend.

At this years event Toyo Asada from No Regrets Japan debut his Green Toyota with some new additions. The truck looked amazing and was a great representative for NRFEC as they like to be called. (No Regrets Far East Coast)

I look forward to going back to Japan next year and who knows, maybe this time, I'll have my truck with me. Wish me luck!

Draggin The Alley 2011

This last weekend I had the opportunity to fly down to south Florida and cover a small show called Draggin The Alley. I was expecting to have a few beers, watch some bowling and enjoy some Florida sun. Boy, was a wrong!!! It would turn out to be non-stop partying till the sun came up everynight!

To start off the first night, we hit it hard right away. First we went to a local Hooters where the Florida boys are regulars. After a few pitchers and some wings, we headed off to a cool bar in Del Rey. It was just like Cheers everybody knew my crew by name, and it was a nice little setting to drink and people watch. Nate even bought me a rose! At 2am the bar closed down, but the night was only starting. We ended up at some dive bar, I can't even remember what it was called; Mugs' or something, and this place was a riot. Some of the dancing I witnessed here will scar me for life.

The following day was the show and it didn't start until noon, which I was very thankful for after the previous night. Roll-in started promptly at noon and the show was for two hours. Right after that everybody went inside to bowl. The bowling was fun, lots of humping (don't ask) lots of drinking and a hole lot of shenanigans! I was also very surprised to find the RA guys in full gear and also very surprised when they didn't place lol. But they had a blast from what I could see.

Following the games everybody head outside for the top ten presentation, which was then followed by a trip to hooters for the Bowling trophy presentation which was won by Aftermath. (It Don't Stop guys) lol. What happened the rest of the night, I can't even talk about. It's one of those things where you really had to be there to see it, after all; "What happens at Draggin the Alley, stays at Draggin the Alley!"

West Coast Nationals 2011

Man, oh man!! What a hell of a weekend. Cholo (NR Japan member) and I just got home about 30 minutes ago and I figured I wouldn't be lazy and share my photos with you all.

As always the show was absolutely amazing. As with all major Sunset shows, the quality was not lacking, lots of new fresh builds, lots of kick ass people, and lots of hot chicks! Trucks from all over the Western US were rolling in as early as Thursday including some Relaxed Atmosphere guys who rolled in from Illinois. It was great to see lots of familiar faces and lots of new ones.

Me and a few NR guys rolled in early Thursday morning because we wanted to get our typical beach front spot and get our party started early. Thursday was a slow and relaxing day for us, we were in the river so long, I didn't even notice the park filling up throughout the day!

I'm not sure how many trucks were in the show exactly but it definitely didn't disappoint and I'm really looking forward to next years show. Bob says hes looking to move the show to earlier in the year in April. Hopefully this means we can have a stronger showing from other states. I can't imagine who wouldn't want to hit this show. So if you're reading this I'm telling you to start planning for it now. See you there!!

I haven't been writing much these days. And to tell you the truth it's because I'm really focused on life. It doesn't mean I'm giving up on my blog by any means. I just haven't had the time to really get into too much story telling or facts about minitrucks. As shows come up I will still be sharing them.

For now I'm focused back on my career in Real Estate. Ive been a licensed Real Estate agent for over 10 years now and a Realtor for most of those years. ( their is a difference!) I need to sell some houses to get my life back on track and in the right direction. I'll keep you posted!

RA All Star Event 2011

This year I wasn't sure if I was going to make it to the All Star Event in Millington or not. But luckily for me I have some pretty good friends. My buddy and fellow club member Zane Stokes flew me out to the show in Tennessee this year. At first I thought I would leave my camera at home and just enjoy the weekend, but then I figured I had to get this show coverage up on here, so I brought the camera along. A few days before the show I also found out that I would be shooting the show for MT magazine. So things only got better for me because I really enjoy shooting the show for MT magazine.

This year I flew into Chattanooga, TN on Thursday and spent most of Friday in Jasper Tennessee, with Zane and a some of the NR guys from TN. We then did the 400 mile trip to Memphis later that afternoon. It was a pretty fun ride for me, I got to roll in a body dropped Dodge with A/C and just kick back and enjoy the Tennessee highways.

We got to the show pretty late Friday night but rolling into town I immediately saw trucks cruising around and coming in from all directions. To my suprise Justin and Big Mike from Arkansas had reserved me a room so I got to stay with all the NR guys. It was pretty awesome of them and I'm super thankful for such awesome members. It had been two years since I'd last been to this show but I definitely couldn't wait to get to the show on Saturday and getting an opportunity to hang out with my out of state family.

When we rolled in at about 10am Saturday morning I was very impressed with the huge numbers in attendance. I ran into Juan from RA So Cal and he told me that they had already beat the best numbers for the show and people were still lined up to the gate. Considering the horrid temperatures I knew I had a big day of shooting pics ahead of me. But looking at all the impressive trucks I looked forward to the day.

My first stop was the No Regrets camp where a couple of guys got their logos and became new members of the club. I grabbed the camera and then headed for a lemonade. I love the "fair" food at this event. If you haven't had the BBQ Nachos here before you are definitely missing out.

With Sunday, came some crazy looking weather. The RA guys sped up the days events and got the trophies started early. As always the trophies didn't let us down, not only where they really organized, but they had the most impressive trophies I'd seen in a while. Thanks again to Relaxed Atmosphere for holding such a great event, and I can definitely say that I'm very much looking forward to next year.

Severed Ties So Cal Show 2011

It was a blazing hot Saturday in August when Severed Ties started what I hope will be a new show to the lacking So Cal show line up. When I say blazing, I mean it too. It wasn't Texas ridiculous hot, but it was hot enough.

When I first pulled up to the show grounds I loved it. It had the old school Cali vibe that takes you way back to when MiniTruckin' was a weekly thing here in So Cal. Not only was it centrally located in So Cal but the park was great. It had a swimming pool and tons of playgrounds for the kids. Being a dad this is great, and any show in a park beats a parking lot show any day. The show wasn't over capacity but it was great for a first year show. The amount of quality was high and all the clubs that you would expect to see in So Cal were in attendance.

Their was a particularly strong showing of Negative Camber and I saw lots of old faces. It was also great to see so many "Tito" shirts at the show. Jeff Davy from Devious Customs had Courtney's truck at the show and it looked great. He's doing an awesome job with it. I heard they worked on it all night and hadn't even slept yet.

The trophies at this show were some of the best ones id seen yet. They were really nice plaques and the best of trophies were cut out of metal and placed on really nice stands. I'm glad they weren't those shitty plastic ones that were used to seeing. A nice plaque will go up on the wall to be admired. A big plastic gold thing just ends up in the garage or a trash can.

It was a great show, a great turn-out and an even more amazing Atmosphere. I look forward to next year where hopefully I'll have a truck to bring of my own. Thanks to the Severed Ties guys for adding a show in So Cal. If it's one thing we need here in So Cal it's more shows to get people motivated back into the garage to build some kick-ass minitrucks.

Day 2 of Juicing

Well it's mid-day of day two, and so far I don't feel any different. I do however feel slightly hungry but I haven't had any water today. I did however have a tall cup of veggie juice. I should be on my second cup but I slept in today. My juice today consists of:
- papaya
- lemon
- cucumber
- pear
- parsley
- spinach
- green apple
- ginger root

I saw this recipe on you tube, and out of the two recipes I've tried it's the best so far. I did get a juice at Juice It Up yesterday that was decent but it had way too much Ginger Root. The damn drink was spicy, in a bad way.

I have one more pre-made juice that Melissa and I made last night. It's the same one from yesterday and has a much stronger veggie taste.

10 day Juice Fast!!!

It's time to reboot this body of mine. So I have decided to eat (or should I say drink) nothing but juice for 10 days. It basically means that ill be in a pretty shitty mood for the next few days.

Today I had a juice made with Kale, cucumber, apple, celery, ginger root and a pice of lemon. It wasn't great, but it wasn't soo bad that I couldn't put it down either. Wish me luck and we'll see where it goes from here.

OH YA!!!!! THAT WAS LAST NIGHT!!!!!

If you find yourself bitching about the way things were, then maybe you should do something about it instead of sitting behind the computer talking about the way it used to be. Minitruckin is still good, people are still building trucks for themselves, if you don't see this then you're hanging out with the wrong people. I rolled to a cruise night with about ten No Regrets So Cal members last night and it was just like the old days.....JUST SAYING!!!!!!!

Granted I know at some of the big shows, you have a handful of ding dongs fucking it up. But good people still exist, So if you don't want to be a part of this scene, C YA!!! But please don't write shit like "I used to be a part of this, but now it sucks, blah blah blah." In ten years from now, the kids from today are going to bitch about the way things were. People change, Minitruckin' has evolved. You have to evolve with it, or move on please. But don't bring us down with you.

AccuAir eXo Mounts

If you love air suspension their is a good chance that by now you've heard of AccuAir. If you haven't, in a nutshell, It's basically a system that allows your vehicle to adjust to certain pre-set heights. It's the best thing to happen to minitrucks since body drops, and it just makes life a lot easier.

It's the coolest system available and now it's even cooler with their new eXo mount. Their products are so tight, you wouldn't even want to hide it. The pre-built mounting system gives you a great way to clean up your system and mount it easily to your truck or car. It can be configured for 3 or 5-gallon tanks, and one or two compressors. I've been reading up on AccuAir and their system a lot lately because I plan on purchasing a unit for WAS STK (previously STK TRUK) but before I buy it I wanted to make sure it really was something I would enjoy.

I got to see their products in action at last years SEMA and I've seen it in action at shows. I've come to the conclusion that as soon as I can save up enough pennies I'm going to pick one up. After I do, I'll be sure to let you guys know how I like it and how well it responds.

This years Summer Madness was the funnest Summer Madness I've been too in a long time. And I've been to a ton of these shows, I'm figuring at least 10-12. I had a big chance to really sit back at this years show and enjoy some drinks with some good friends and fellow club members. It was a bonding experience we haven't had in a show since Resolutions.Considering I just lost a friend this week, I was really hoping for a mellow weekend.

This year we drove up in a huge freaking motor home owned by my homie and fellow No Regrets member Mike Quigley. Knowing that the temperatures in Bakersfield are through the roof, we wanted to make sure we would have somewhere to sleep comfortably. Besides the RV, this year I also decided I would drink liquor instead of beer because really hot temps and beer just lead to bloated minitruckers. Liquid Cocaine's were on the menu, (Amaretto, Malibu, Southern Comfort and Pineapple juice) and they were the perfect blend for the hot weather.

Friday night ran smooth, people flowed in from all over southern California, central California and nor cal. It seems like everybody was there to hang out and party, and everybody left their attitudes at home. Show staff allowed people to cruise and have some fun. It seems like with all the good at every show comes all the bad. At this show we didn't have a huge problem with people dragging out of control, because dragging isn't allowed. So in the absence of truck destruction, guys decided to bust out their train horns. I'm a firm believer that train horns belong on trains, and I wasn't the only one. People could be heard booing all throughout the park. But this didn't deter the noisy truckers. I guess everybody is entitled to their form of fun, but when they do it at 4am or 6am it just really sucks ass!

Saturday was show time and this show was huge. I'm not even sure how many trucks were in the show, but I'm assuming it was around 350 or more. The show was great and even though it took them about 4 hours to set them all up but in the end, it was laid out perfectly. If I was them, next year I would lay out the show in the huge grass area because it would make it easier to set up and to walk it as a spectator.

I know that next years show may have a different vibe since it will finally be under new management but I believe that the vibe will only improve. I know that Airbrush and his crew from Regulators will do an awesome job of taking over the show. I hope that they can bring the prices back down to earth and hopefully that will help with attendance. Even though this years show wasn't the biggest ever, I actually enjoyed the atmosphere of the show, and I thought the staff handled the show well. I look forward to going next year and hope to see some of you guys there!

We look up to guys like you, the guys that paved the way. You were wrenching on trucks before I could even drive. You were featured before I had a truck. You helped bring the community together by helping bring one of the best clubs in the world together. More importantly you were the kind of guy that made us laugh, you were the kind of guy that made us feel welcomed everywhere you were. I always looked up to you.

I'll never forget the night you came to my house to get a bench seat out of a piece of crap 66 ford at my house. Infested with spiders, but you didn't give a crap, you were a car guy. The day we shot my 50 Chevy in San Diego is one of the funnest days I can remember. You were a hell of a tour guide.

You told me that night I could keep anything I wanted at your house and I knew you meant it. You weren't just trying to be nice, you were being a good friend.

When I got my lucha libre Jesus Tattoo the first person I text with the finished photo was you and I told you it was for you. I knew you'd dig it and you did.

You taught me about low light photos and when to use a filter, but more important; you thought me that friends are more than back windows. RIP in peace Tito. We will miss you.

If you're old enough, you might remember the days when trucks were built to be shown, to be cruised and to be admired. But never to be destroyed. I've written enough in the past about my thoughts on destroying our trucks so I won't write a book.

I just miss the days when we went to shows pulled a wheel, cleaned our trucks until the judges showed up and really cared. Granted, I haven't seen as much destruction of trucks as was popular a few years back, but it's become apparent to me that some guys still don't give a shit. Ripping roll pans off and bumpers, why? It doesn't make you look cool. Yelling "Drag It!" and being disappointed with the guy in the gorgeous truck with a $10,000 for not dragging it isn't my idea of being "a real mini-trucker."

I've done my share of dragging. And don't worry this isn't a debate about tow balls, versus rockers. I'm not even saying don't drag. This is just saying, "Don't go out there and destroy your truck, cause you look like an ass!!!" I'm talking to the guys that don't pull off the ground the whole weekend until they've destroyed an entire bed side, or the entire strip of driving concrete we had. Working side by side with Mike Alexander to expand the custom truck culture to the world through the top international magazines, I'm proud to announce that we will now be working with Bagged Minitruckin' Down Under to feature some of the hottest trucks from the US over seas.

We have already been working with Trucktrends from Japan for over a year now.

It's been a few days since I got back from my trip to Camp n Drag in Waveland, Indiana. I can honestly say that I'm still trying to get back to normal. It's 10:19 at night two days later as I sit here and type this and I'm still tired and recovering from all the partying I did with friends at the gorgeous park in Waveland. But I told myself I would post the pictures tonight so here I sit.

I arrived in Indiana at just after midnight on Friday the 15th, I was supposed to be there late Thursday night but my flight had a crazy delay in Phoenix Arizona. I didn't let that bring me down though because I knew that the weekend would make up for it. When I got to the park at about 4am, nobody was awake except for a huge crowd at the NR camp of course, and in the middle of it all was good ole' RJ. The rep for NR Indiana/Illinois and one of the promoters of the show. (the next morning he would tell me that he didn't even remember me getting to the show lol) Everybody was drunk so I just went to bed. No way was I going to try and party and reason with a handful of drunk asses.

The Next morning I quickly realized that the park was already filling up. I could quickly tell that this years attendance was already bigger. Friday was sort of a blur. I went shopping to Walmart and picked up some Malibu in a bag, don't ask and started partying with hundreds of minitruckers. The nights festivities were awesome and a blur. I didn't go to bed until 6am...I think.

Saturday was show time! The sun was hot but not unbearable and the show field was filled with amazing trucks. Severed Ties clearly came to compete, not just to party. They had a big row filled with trucks, including passed feature trucks. All the big clubs were in the house and the mid-west definitely brought their "A" game. I was very impressed with the quality this year. If I had to say I was disappointed with one thing it was the amount of people dragging their roll-pans off and destroying their trucks. I can honestly say that I'm in no way shape or form impressed by the destruction of your truck, and the Trailer Balls; forget about it. If I was staff I would tell the guys with trailer balls to just park the trucks because first of all they barely spark at 5 mph and all you're doing is destroying the concrete. But enough of that, clearly not the staffs fault.

Speaking of the staff; they did an amazing job again. (Even the way they handled the Volley Ball incident, You're Welcome Bill!") I look forward to going back next year and I urge you guys to go as well. Shows like this are rare, so you should enjoy the ones you have. And if you plan on attending, don't ask where the host hotel is at because they don't have one. Bring a damn tent and don't be a chicken!!!

If all goes according to plan, the next time I release any photos will be at SEMA later this year. The truck is currently sitting at The Painters Shack in San Bernardino. It should be finished painted in the next two weeks and then it will head to Xtreme Audio in Riverside, Ca. The interior is at AC Upholstery in Nuevo, Ca. They do the most amazing work and the motor is going to Wilk Works in Nuevo, Ca. for a complete overhaul. Keep your fingers crossed.

It's crazy that I've never been to this show before. It's overwhelmingly huge. I can't say it's the best show ever because it wasn't but it was a good time. The car show itself wasn't that big. I don't think their was over 150 cars there. But the cars that were there were awesome.

I ran into Bob Grant at a Tattoo Booth randomly while he was getting his ST tattoo. It was nice to see that Bob and Zak both from Grant Kustoms brought out rides.

The tattoo convention which takes place inside the Queen Mary is a whole other animal. It was huge, and crowded like crazy. I definitely wouldn't plan on coming to this show to party, with beers being $9!! But if you wanted to see cool rides, hot chicks and get a sweet tattoo this is a great place.

Our buddy from Slapstick Tattoo in Yokohama, Japan came to the show with the shop I work for, Tattoo Revolution. Taka and Brent tattooed all weekend. I know they are going back for sure next year, so I'm sure that means I'll be there too.

This weekend is a blur!

You see not only did Severed Ties host a show for Bradley Lang (RIP) but it was also the No Regrets 11 year anniversary. Way too much partying for one weekend.

The ST show took place at the same Harley Dealer as last year, (which one I don't know, details details...) as I pulled I could immediately tell that the parking lot was much busier than last year. I'm guessing their was roughly 150-200 vehicles. You couldn't have asked for better weather, I mean it was slightly hot, but not intolerable.

I was there long enough to say hello to friends and check out all the cool cars. But I had to leave because Paco from New Mexico No Regrets was getting married later that day. Check out the link below and check out the show coverage from the show.

I know I haven't been blogging, but geez! I've been busy. Two weekends in Vegas, followed by Ink N Iron. And my computer has been sort of down. I had it upgraded to windows 7 and CS5 and it didn't go as planned.

At any rate, I found this amazing blog that I just love. Coolest pictures around. I'm not 100% but this blogger is either an X minitrucker, or knows some. I base this on the fact that their are a few pics of some Minis, but also a few of my pics and a pic of Mike Alexanders car. I could be wrong though, but at any rate. I stayed up until 2am last night looking through every single post on there.

Yesterday I met up with John Arnold the owner of the Wood Runner. He flew into town to pick up a truck and brought with him an awesome souvenir for me. The front fender off of the Wood Runner. One of the coolest four runners that ever lived lol.

If you haven't heard the Wood Runner was totalled a year or so back. It's very unfortunate but John is putting it back together. On his FB page he actually has a few shots of a new frame!! I personally can't wait to see what he comes up with next. For now, this fender will rest in my collection of parts off of famous trucks and cover trucks that I have been putting together for a few years now.

If you know of any parts out there please let me know. They will go into good hands. Soon Ill post up some pics of all of my collection.

Down to Earth Day 2011 - Show Coverage

Visalia is one of those places, that's just close enough for a day trip, but just far enough to annoy me. It's roughly 300-miles from my house. It wouldn't have been so bad if I was riding with somebody but I was doing the trip to Down To Earth day solo this year. Sure, their was a few NR So Cal guys heading to the show, but they were from the LA area, so meeting with them would have probably added another 50-miles or so to my trip. So I decided to do it alone.

I left my house at 6am because I knew that with a stop or two I would get their just after roll-in at around 10am. After all I don't want to be there when the lines are long and the dirt is getting kicked up. As planned I got their just after roll-in was finished. Right away I knew the show was going to be amazing. They had it set up much better this year and the layout was easier to follow. I couldn't help but notice they had a ton of quality vendors and even more food vendors! I'm not sure of the count, but I'm estimating easily over 300 vehicles and 500 cops. I'm not sure if the cops are a bad thing or not. On the plus side, you feel safer with them around, but at the same time, they annoy you when they stop you at the gate, and follow you around like you're some kind of criminal. I know that the cops are out of the control of the staff, and I could tell the cops were doing their best to stay out of the way, but their presence seems to annoy a lot of people.

Awards went smoothly and quickly. Forbidden Fantasy seemed to take a ton of trophies yesterday, congratulations them.

After the show I shot two features for Mini Truckin' magazine. I also shot the show coverage for them which is why my show coverage on Mind of Macias is lacking minitrucks. So be sure to keep an eye out for that show coverage in an upcoming issue. I can't wait for next years show, and maybe, Down To Earth can find a way to turn this show into a truck run!! Plenty of people are staying in hotels in Visalia, maybe they can find a spot to make it a three day (Lake Isabella!!!) but who knows! At any rate, thanks to the staff for a good time and a great show, see you next year.

To Better Days - Weekend Celebrity Productions Review

I'm sitting here thinking really hard about how the hell I met Chris and Brandon from Crimepays Video. I really can't remember, I can't even think how far back we go at all, has it been five years? Has it been six years? I really have no clue, I mean, I know I've been talking to these guys for sometime, but they seemed to have just popped up out of nowhere. I can however remember seeing some of their first videos, I always knew these guys had talent and I did always enjoy their videos in the beginning. After watching their latest title "To Better Days" I can honestly say that they have blown me away with how far they've come.

Now as some of you may know, I was sort of a player in the video scene for some time, but the fact of the matter is that I don't know shit about editing or filming DVD's. What I do know is how to be an ass in front of the camera, and I can promote the shit out of something. So as I sat and watched this video, I don't know whether the cues are right, I don't know whether the colors are on point or not. But what I do know is that it was easy on the eye and highly entertaining. I was lucky enough to watch this video in HD on my 62-inch flat screen with surround sound and it really popped out at me. The camera work in this video has blown me away. I started watching it as I was editing pictures, and I actually had to stop what I was doing and watch the damn thing without any distractions.

I won't lie to you guys, I used to be one of those guys that would fast forward through a lot of the videos out there. It could have been the music or the particular feature. But I sat through this whole video, in awe and completely entertained, now and then I even laughed (thanks Oliver Porter for that comedic relieve!) The choice of features was great, because they seem to cover all the genres. You want a mini, they had it, you want a full-size, done, how about something old school, yeah, they got that too! And the models, wow, definitely don't let your wife or girlfriend catch you watching that part.

One thing that was definitely on point in this DVD (besides the models) is the perfect blend of talking and music. I really like that, this kind of video is great to play in the background at any party. The kind of music they had isn't for everybody but it certainly is modern and easy to listen too, it's a great blend also. None of that crazy senseless screaming!

I think I've rambled enough about how great of video these goobers put out. They deserve a lot of credit for their hard work and dedication and I think you guys should definitely put this on your "To Buy" list, along with a Mind of Macias shirt of course. And Brandon, I expect my check in the mail by Friday!!! This kind of crap doesn't write itself! Just kidding of course. But seriously Chris, Brandon, and crew, great job, keep it up and don't stop putting out those videos, go out there and turn some more people into "Weekend Celebrities!"
